5 delicious and easy pre workout snacks


We often get asked; ‘what are the best snacks to eat before attending a fitness class?’ so here they are, our top 5 delicious and easy pre workout snacks:

 

Greek Yoghurt and a handful of nuts

 

Simply fill your bowl with a few scoops of yoghurt and enjoy with a handful of mixed nuts. This is a great snack to eat at the end of the day before heading to a exercise class. The nuts provide protein and good fats and the Greek yoghurt provides carbohydrates and additional protein.

 

Hard boiled eggs

 

This is a great protein packed snack for on the go. You can boil a few eggs at the beginning of the week and grab them as and when you need them! Once you’ve boiled the eggs, you can either leave their shell on until you’re ready to eat them or peel them and place in a Tupperware box.

 

A large ripe banana

 

Try consuming a banana 30 minutes – 1 hour before your workout. Bananas are the perfect way to boost your glycogen stores and increase blood sugar levels. Bananas are also thought to provide more energy than caffeine. If you’re feeling peckish before a workout and don’t have time to whip anything up, head to your local supermarket and grab a bunch!

 

A warm bowl of porridge

 

A bowl of porridge is a fantastic pre workout snack, especially if you’re heading off to workout straight after breakfast. Porridge is a great way to release energy slowly, whilst keeping you fuller for longer. You can also add a scoop of protein for those muscle protecting amino acids.

 

Sliced apple and a scoop of peanut butter

 

This is one of our favourites! It’s simple, affordable and has great pre workout qualities. You’ll receive carbohydrates from the apple and the peanut butter is full of protein and healthy fats.
